Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sumzup, available at sumz-up.com and related pages (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Jiyoung Kim (ABN 70 356 022 140), a sole trader based in New South Wales, Australia (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Sumzup produces AI-generated digests of publicly available podcasts and videos — summaries in several editorial voices, key points, fact-checked claims with cited sources, and a clickbait check comparing what an episode promises against what it delivers. The digests are automated interpretations and may contain errors, omissions or misclassifications.

The Service is provided for general information and entertainment only. It is not professional advice of any kind — including medical, financial, legal or investment advice — and must not be relied upon as such. Always consult a qualified professional and verify important information against original sources.

2. Accounts

Some features require an account, created by signing in with Google. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Google login secure. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account or purchase a subscription. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate others.

3. Free and paid plans

A free tier gives access to our featured, pre-computed digests. Paid tiers (“Pro”, “Max”) add further features described on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe, in US dollars, until cancelled. Prices are shown on the pricing and checkout pages and may change with notice for future billing periods. We are not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged.

Paid processing features may be subject to usage limits or a shared processing allowance described at the point of sale. We may fulfil on-demand digest requests in the order received, and may prioritise paid subscribers.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service unlawfully or in breach of these Terms;
• scrape, bulk-download, resell, or redistribute the Service or its content except as expressly permitted;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or circumvent access controls or usage limits;
• submit content or requests that infringe others’ rights or that are unlawful.

5. Third-party content

Digests describe and comment on third-party podcasts and videos (for example, content hosted on YouTube). We do not own that underlying content, and rights in it remain with the original creators and rights-holders. Digests are provided for the purpose of summary, commentary and criticism. Names, marks and links to source material belong to their respective owners. If you are a rights-holder and believe content has been used improperly, contact us at support@youtubetotext.com and we will respond promptly.

6. Intellectual property

The Service’s software, design, and original text and layout are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. When you submit a video URL or request, you grant us the permissions necessary to process it and deliver the resulting digest to you.

7. AI and accuracy disclaimer

AI-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and may misattribute statements or sources. Fact-check verdicts and clickbait assessments are automated opinions, not statements of fact. You are responsible for independently verifying anything you rely on.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded (“Non-excludable Rights”).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to your Non-excludable Rights, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the liability, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel a paid plan as described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the licence granted to you ends; sections intended to survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers and liability) continue.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without limiting any Non-excludable Rights available to you where you live.
